Volunteer Befrienders wanted for Adavu
Slavery and Exploitation still take place in towns, cities and rural communities in the West Midlands. Men, women and children can be trafficked for sexual exploitation, forced labour, domestic servitude, and other forms of slavery.
Adavu is a Birmingham based project, which offers long term support to adult survivors of modern slavery who are making the transition into life in a local community.
Vacancy for Befriending Co-ordinator and Lead Women's Befriending Worker
Would you like to join a small busy staff team committed to working towards Restore’s vision of a society into which all refugees and asylum seekers are welcomed, valued and integrated? Do you have the passion and excellent organisational, training and pastoral skills needed to lead Restore’s befriending scheme and lead the women’s befriending work? N.B. This post is restricted to women applicants only and is exempt under Schedule 9, part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
We are seeking a full-time Befriending Co-ordinator and Lead Women’s Befriending Worker for 35 hours a week to provide training to new volunteers, co-ordinate the application process, lead the one-to-one befriending work and support female refugees and asylum seekers. This is a big role requiring commitment to Restore, collaborative team work, the ability to juggle many tasks and excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
