Methodist Data Protection

Introduction

Birmingham Methodist Circuit takes data security very seriously. All matters to do with Data Protection in the Methodist Church are overseen by two Data Controllers which are the Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes (TMCP) and the Connexional Team. Birmingham Methodist Circuit, as part of the Methodist Church in the UK, manages data under the Methodist Church Privacy Policy which is maintained and overseen by these two controllers. You can read about how that policy is implemented by viewing the Methodist Church Privacy Notice found here.

Circuit Compliance with GDPR

Birmingham Methodist Circuit is currently in the process of reviewing all of its data management in line with new GDPR legislation and pre-existing data protection law. This is a process which should be completed by Christmas 2018.

Within our Circuit the oversight of Data Protection currently sits with Tom Milton the Communications and Training Officer for the Birmingham Methodist Circuit who operates under a steering group made up of key circuit officers. If you have any questions about Birmingham Methodist Circuit Data Protection compliance then please contact him on 07875 379 460 or tmilton@birminghammethodistcircuit.org.uk
