About Beacon Church

Our church is called the Beacon Church, a shared Methodist/Church of England church formed out of St Chad's Church of England and Pheasey Methodists over twenty years ago. It is in Birmingham Methodist Circuit, Lichfield diocese and Walsall deanery. It serves both Pheasey and Park Farm estates.

There is a single congregation of 30 - 40 people which meets at 10-00 a.m. every Sunday, alternating between Holy Communion with Sunday School (1st and 3rd Sundays) and a Service of the Word (2nd and 4th). The service on the first Sunday is set aside as a time for prayers for healing. Baptisms, weddings and funerals are by arrangement and can be either C of E or Methodist services as the families prefer (the minister is authorised by both denominations). We have an organ, but usually use recorded music led by a small choir. It is a modern and warm church building with good acoustics.

There is a good community hall which is used for youth and children's groups including a full range of scout and guide groups, Girls' Friendly Society, and Boys' Brigade. On Tuesdays a fellowship meets in the morning at about 11.00 most weeks, and Men's fellowship meets in the evening.

On the first Wednesday of the month we have a coffee morning starting at 10.30am which is a major community gathering and a chance to meet key figures in the neighbourhood.

The church has a dementia awareness programme and occasional support meetings, and a lively Messy Church. For further details contact the church.
