Citizens UK West Midlands Mayoral Assembly

Citizens UK invite you to join civil society leaders from across the region to what will be the largest non-partisan event of the West Midlands Mayoral race.  This is event is free but you will need to book a ticket to attend, see details below.

The local councils have come together to create a West Midlands Combined Authority, headed by an elected Mayor with each Council leader. In May 2017, we will be going to polling stations to decide who takes office as the first Mayor for our region. S/he will lead decisions on transport, mental health, housing, skills and public sector reform which will significantly affect the lives and prospects of people across our communities.

With a strong civil society agenda rooted in what matters to our families and communities, Citizens UK invite you to join them on Wednesday 29th March 2017 as they seek pledges from the main Mayoral Candidates to those priorities.

This major ticket only event in Edgbaston will be the largest pre-election Assembly in the run-up to next May. It will not be a public meeting nor a political hustings. It will be hosted by the University of Birmingham in the Great Hall of its Edgbaston Campus on Wednesday 29th of March 2017, at 6pm. Amidst joyful celebrations and powerful stories we are organising up to 1000 citizens from across the West Midlands to be in attendance to hear the candidates make public commitments.
