Walk of Witness in Saltley

Saltley Methodist Church lies in the community of Saltley in the inner part of Birmingham. Read below a note from Samuel Uwimana, Minister of the Church, about their involvement in a walk of witness with other local churches on Good Friday.

Samuel Writes...

On Good Friday, Saltley Methodist Church hosted nine churches in a united worship service at 1.30pm following a walk of witness through their local community.

The March of Witness stated at 10 am at Ward End Elim Church/ St Margaret, with a reflection from Luke 22:66. Then it walked to the other eight churches involved with banners, leaflets,  singing choruses of Jesus' crucifixion for the salvation of us all. We gathered outside the church for reflections and prayers.

What a glorious day! The sun was shining and everybody was excited to joyfully sing for the Lord Jesus, though he was being crucified. During the united service at Saltley Methodist Church, the preacher encouraged us to love one another, following the example of Jesus-unconditional love. After the service, we gathered in our Pension Centre for refreshment, music and talks.

We thank God for ecumenical fellowship we have in our community - for the glory of God.
