Data Protection Training
With the changes in Data Protection Law the Birmingham Methodist Circuit will be running training for it's officers, ministers and staff, as well as for the leaders of it's 36 churches. Read on for more information about that training.
Data Protection Law Change (GDPR)
The law has recently changed with regard to Data Protection and so in line with that Birmingham Methodist Circuit is undergoing a review of it's procedures including those already in place and those that are needed for the new legislation. This is all being done in line with advice from our Data Controllers, TMCP (Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes), and we expect the review and updates to our processes to be in place for the most part by the end of August 2018.
We will be providing training on data protection for those who are part of our circuit in the form of five identical training sessions. This will include covering the basics of data protection and how to keep people's data safe, as well as advice on working within the new GDPR legislation which has just come into force.
The dates for these training sessions are:
- Training Session A - Tuesday 17th July - 2pm - 4pm at Selly Oak Methodist Church
- Training Session B - Monday 23rd July - 10am - 12noon at Lozells Methodist Church
- Training Session C - Saturday 4th August - 10am - 12noon at The Church at Carrs Lane
- Training Session D - Thursday 9th August - 7-9pm at Solihull Methodist Church
- Training Session E - Tuesday 14th August - 7-9pm at Acocks Green Methodist Church
Please note that you only need to attend one of these sessions.
