Children and Youth Worker Gathering - Wellbeing and Authentic Faith

Purpose: A gathering to equip children and youth leaders in their mission and ministry, focused around the topic of wellbeing and authentic faith.

Venue: The Church at Carrs Lane, Carrs Lane, Birmingham City Centre, B4 7SX

About: This year we will be hosting our conference around the topic of wellbeing and authentic faith. Children and Young People in our current culture face an ever-evolving world of information, opportunity and challenge, with technology fuelling a change so fast, that, as parents or youth leaders, keeping up with it all can be quite a challenge. How do we support children and young people to deal well with the challenges that face them? What values and support are helpful? How do we equip them to be authentic followers of Jesus in their generation? Come along to hear about and discuss different topics in this broad field.

Booking: The gathering costs £10 which includes lunch and refreshments. If you are a volunteer leader in your local church, then we hope that you will be able to ask them to pick up the ticket cost or that you can claim it and your travel back.

Click here to book on eventbrite.

Start: 16th May 2020 10:30 am End: 16th May 2020 3:30 pm

Birmingham District Methodist Women in Britain’s Got Talent

This will be held on Saturday 16 May 2020, 10.30am to 3.30pm at Droitwich Methodist Church.

This is your opportunity to show off your artistic talent – whether it is knitting, crochet, embroidery, water colours, woodwork etc etc.

If you have a piece of work that you have made, then bring it along and display it. Every item will be allocated a number so that we can self-adjudicate – ie we all get to vote on our favourite piece in each section – and the item with the most votes will receive an award.

During the day there will be plenty of time to chat with old friends and new, and enjoy your picnic lunch together!

We are also inviting Circuits to enter a small choir to sing a short piece, so there will be plenty of fellowship and entertainment on offer!

Sabeel 1st Young Adult Gathering 2020

Come,  Rise Up Now Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Nazareth, and more!

Today, we at the Sabeel Ecumenical Theology Center in Jerusalem announce the First International Young Adult Gathering which will be held 17th - 25th June 2020.  Cost is $1,100 USD.

Spend time with Palestinian communities.  Fellowship with young adults from around the world.  Take part in nonviolence initiatives.  Learn how to KUMI.

In this time of great polarization, fundamentalism and grave injustice, we are seeing a generation of young people rise who are longing for theologies that liberate and bring hope to the oppressed, the marginalized, and the broken-hearted. Such theologies have developed among oppressed Christians worldwide, including among Palestinians. These theologies have inspired strength, hope, and a continual commitment to Jesus’ teachings of a just peace and nonviolent resistance to all forms of oppression.
